Coimbatore: Four people have been killed in a military helicopter crash in Coonoor near Ooty, local media reported. A helicopter carrying 14 people, including Joint Chiefs of Staff Bipin Rawat, crashed. Three people, including Bipin Rawat, were critically injured.

The helicopter crashed on its way from Sulur Air Force Base in Coimbatore to Wellington Cantonment in Ooty. The passengers included high-ranking military officials and Rawat’s wife. The Air Force has ordered an investigation into the incident.
