Mumbai ∙ Newly married couple died of suffocation in Mumbai due to geyser gas leak. The deceased have been identified as Deepak Shah (40) and Tina Shah (35), who lived in Kukreja Towers, Ghatkopar. Both were found unconscious in the washroom and rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.
On Wednesday morning, the maid came and rang the bell, but no one answered the door. Deepak’s mother and other relatives who lived nearby were informed. When he opened the door with the spare key, he found both of them lying motionless in the bathroom. The preliminary information is that the cause of death was geyser gas leak.
After celebrating Holi, the couple had bathed. It is reported that the accident may have been caused by forgetting to turn off the geyser used for heating water. Both of them got married recently and started living in an apartment in Mumbai.
