According to a report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, India continues to be the top importer of arms from abroad.
In this regard, the report states:
From 2018 to 2022, India is the largest arms importer in the world. Following this are Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Australia and China.
Pakistan is ranked 8th. China is the main supplier of arms to the country.
India has received 30 percent of France’s total arms exports from 2018 to 2022. While the US was the second largest supplier of arms to India after Russia, France has overtaken the US. Meanwhile, Russia’s arms supply to India is dwindling.
It has been reported that USA, Russia, France, China and Germany are the top 5 arms exporters.
