The ‘Abhinandana’ award ceremony was held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo on the 12th to appreciate the members of the Sri Lankan Bar Association who have served 50 years in the professional legal field.
Chancellor Ranil Wickramasinghe, who completed 50 years of professional legal work, was also honored here and Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya conferred the ‘Abhinandana’ award to Chancellor Ranil.
The event was organized in conjunction with the inaugural ‘Law Society of Sri Lanka National Annual Conference – 2023’ at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel Colombo and awards were presented under 3 categories.

Juliana Margaret Koswatta, Walter Leslie De Silva, Ratnasabapathy Arumugam Jagatheesan, Attorney General Upali A. Gunaratne. Kanakaratnam Ganesayogan, Advocate General M.M. Zuhair, Justice Ashoka Nihal de Silva, Justice T.J.T.S. Balapadabendi, W.D.J. Awards were given to 26 lawyers including Senaviratne.
Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya, Attorney General Sanjay Rajaratnam, President of the Sri Lankan Bar Association Saliya Peiris, Chairman of ‘Abhinandana’ Committee Janaprith Fernando, Liaison Samath Fernando and many other chief guests attended the event.
