Sony has introduced a new camera equipped with a laser device so that people with visual impairment can participate in photography.

Sony Electronics, a multinational company from Japan, has introduced a new camera model called DSC-HX99RNV. Visually impaired people can take clear photos using this camera without wearing any glasses or lenses.

It has a Sony camera and a QT laser Retissa NeoView. That is, the viewfinder is equipped with laser retina projection technology to see when taking photos. In conjunction with the QT laser, the HX99 RNV introduces the Retina Projection Camera Kit. With a laser retina system, users can see a clear photo with their own eyes.

Helps those suffering from farsightedness, nearsightedness or astigmatism to see a clear image. Additionally, the laser retina is designed to use less power.

New technology in old model:

Sony’s HX99 model was launched in 2018. Now with it, new laser technology has been integrated. Along with an 18-megapixel sensor, it is equipped with a 24 to 720 mm zoom lens. A QT laser’s Retissa NeoView projector completes the camera setup. The battery that comes with it is capable of lasting up to 4 hours. It can be charged via micro USB.

Camera price, where to get it? :

The Sony DSC HX99 camera alone is available for $474.99 (Rs. 39,200 in Indian currency). Both the camera and the laser projector are priced at $600 (Rs. 49,500 in Indian currency). Sony has introduced it specially for visually impaired people.

However, Sony recommends that you try the device before buying it. Because it is not suitable for all visual impairments. A limited number of camera and projector bundles are said to be available in the US market in May.
