Thiruvananthapuram: Supplyco has not increased prices for 13 essential items, says Minister GR Anil. These products are on sale at a discount of 50%. The minister said the prices have not increased for the last six years.
The minister also said that Supplyco had reduced the prices of the items which were inflated yesterday. 8 for chilli, Rs. 4 for mustard, Rs. 10 for green gram and Rs. 4 for coriander.
He said the government would take steps to ensure that ordinary people are not affected by inflation. After vegetables, the prices of groceries went up and people were left in the dark. Normal brown rice went up by Rs. 2 to Rs. The price of salt has gone up from Rs 10 per kg to Rs 2 to 3 per kg. The price of grated chilli has gone up from Rs 140 to Rs 160 last week.
