The court dismissed all of Panneer Selvam’s petitions and declared that the decisions passed in the AIADMK general meeting would be followed. Edappadi Palaniswami was elected uncontested as the AIADMK General Secretary, and following the announcement, he paid respects to the statues of former Chief Ministers MGR and Jayalalithaa. Palaniswami then issued the first announcement after being elected, stating that new members would be admitted into the party from the 5th and the membership forms would be issued at the AIADMK head office.
