Rajesh M. Menon has been the Special Public Prosecutor in the case for 13 months. Appeared 147 times. Made many trips to organize documents and so on. Bills for expenditure of Rs 1.88 lakh were also submitted. Of this, Rs 47,000 was sanctioned in the first phase and the rest later. The government sanctioned this amount as a reward as there was no department to sanction the expenditure bill.

Rajesh says that he got only the amount he spent and the government did not allow him even a single rupee as fee for his efforts for so many months. He said that the amount of the reward has not been determined.
