“The most difficult winter has passed.” Ukraine is resuming the export of electricity, as the system is already operating with a reserve

by time news

“Ukrainian energy system has been working for almost two months without restrictions on consumers with a reserve of capacity. We achieved this result thanks to the titanic work of energy workers, our international partners, who helped restore the system. The most difficult winter has passed. The next step is to open the export of electricity, which will allow us to attract additional financial resources for the necessary restoration of the destroyed and damaged energy infrastructure,” the press service of the Ministry of Energy quoted Halushchanka as saying.

Ukraine exported electricity to Moldova and EU countries from June to October 11, 2022. The Ministry of Energy specified that 2.6 billion kilowatt-hours were sold during this period.

Since October 11, 2022, Ukraine has stopped exporting electricity to stabilize its own energy system after Russian missile attacks on energy facilities.

Since October 2022, Russian troops have carried out dozens of missile and drone strikes on energy facilities in Ukraine, causing serious comprehensive damage. Energy experts admit that the situation with electricity supply on the front line remains difficult.
