Yesterday I met an old friend in the Köpenick bookstore. It was the record “Christmas in the Family”. It was published in the GDR in 1985 and is part of the inalienable East German gift-giving background inventory. The cover shows the cultural workers Frank Schöbel and Aurora Lacasa with their daughters in front of a Christmas tree. The smile is sweet, the plant ugly and the scene exemplary: four people from one household are celebrating. Hence, no gatherings that are anti-infection protection are glorified.
