UAE: Fire in the crowded old town of Dubai, 16 people died | Life

On April 16, authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) said a serious fire broke out in an apartment building in the city. Dubaileaving at least 16 people dead and 9 others injured.

According to the Dubai Civil Defense Force, the incident fire happened on April 15 in a 5-storey apartment building in the crowded and cramped Al Ras neighborhood of Dubai.

This is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Dubai, with many intertwined nooks and crannies. Old Quarterng is home to the Dubai Spice Market, a popular tourist attraction.

Currently, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
