Nebbiu is not a rapper like the others. The Strasbourg troubadour returns with Aqva which means “ Who Wants to Appreciate » or « Eau ” in Latin. A new album imagined as a sensory inner journey around themes that drive it.
Rap styles, there are almost as many as rappers. But as a troubadour rapper – apart from K’Naan who released an album under this title – it’s still quite rare. Yet, we tend to forget, the troubadours – followers of fiery verses, popular expressions and verbal jousting – were a bit like the rappers of the Middle Ages.
Let’s not forget that basically, the word “rap” is the acronym of ” rythm and poetry », of rhythm and poetry. The flow, Nebbiu undoubtedly has it, and the sometimes slightly ethereal evanescence of his instrumentals give his album a soothing and regenerating fluidity.
