Police have intensified their probe into the Vadakara taluk office fire. Efforts are on to trace the role of Satish Narayanan, a native of Andhra Pradesh in custody. A help desk will be set up to address the public’s concern over the destruction of documents.
Satish Narayan is a mentally challenged person. There have been fires in many places like this before. He had also set fire to two other government offices in Vadakara. Satish Narayan is currently accused in three arson cases. He was arrested on the basis of CCTV footage.

Earlier, the police had conducted inspections at various places with Satish Narayana, who was taken into custody. The inspection was led by the Rural SP and was carried out on nearby buildings where there was a small fire earlier. Earlier, the team inspected buildings near the taluk office where the fire broke out and another building in the city. Despite receiving complaints of minor fires in these buildings on the 12th and 13th of this month, the police have not registered a case.
