It has been reported that a newly married young woman named Roksana Akhter (25) committed suicide by drinking pesticides in a house in the new market area of Bhatara in the capital. The incident happened on Friday (May 5) around 8 am. He was rescued unconscious and rushed to the Dhaka Medical College (DMH) hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead around 10 am.
Roksana’s husband. Faisal Hossain said, we fell in love and got married three or four days ago. After marriage, my wife drank something like insecticide because my parents did not accept it when I took it home and got sick. Later he was rescued and first taken to a local hospital. When the condition worsened, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.
He said that their village home is Bara Sapmara village of Meghna police station in Comilla district. He lived in a house in New Bazaar Khandkar Mor area.
Inspector in charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp. Confirming the death of Bachchu Mia, the body has been kept in the emergency department morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station. In this incident, the husband has been kept in the police camp for questioning. Details are being sought.
