Wagner broadcasts video-shock and announces withdrawal from Bakhmut

Time.news – The head of the Wagner mercenary group, Yevgueni Prigozhin, threatened to withdraw next Wednesday May 10 its units from the Ukrainian city of Bakhmutin the eastern Donetsk region, due to the lack of ammunition and of the large number of casualties among his men.

In a video posted to his Telegram, Prigozhin said “on behalf of the Wagner fighters and their command that on May 10, 2023 we will be obliged to cede positions in the city of Bakhmut to units of the Defense Ministry and to move fighters to the rear to lick our wounds.”

“I am withdrawing the Wagner Group units from Bakhmut because with the lack of ammunition they are doomed to senseless death,” he stressed, addressing “the Chief of Staff, Valery Gerasimov, the Minister of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, the Commander-in-Chief, Vladimir Putin, and to the Russian people”.

Prigozhin complained that the mercenaries have only 10% of ammunition That they need.

“I ask the Chief of Staff of the Army to authorize the transfer of the positions Wagner occupies in the city of Bakhmut to units of the Russian Army and to communicate the date when they will change us to these positions,” Wagner’s boss added.

Prigozhin released a video showing a row of dozens of corpses of his group lying on the ground. “By not giving us ammunition you are not preventing us from winning, you are depriving Russia of victory”, she underlined, recalling that at present only 2 of the 45 square kilometers on which the besieged strategic city extends remain to be conquered

According to Prigozhin the casualties would have been five times less than the current number if Wagner’s units had received the right amount of ammunition.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov declined to comment on the threat of withdrawal.
