Thiruvananthapuram: Police estimate that there have been 37 political assassinations in Kerala since the Pinarayi Vijayan government came to power in 2016. The BJP and the RSS have lost the most workers. Sixteen RSS and BJP workers have been killed in the past five years.
Activists from other parties, including the CPM-9, the Congress-5, the Muslim League-5 and the SDPI-2, were also killed. The question of the number of political assassinations was raised in the Assembly but the Chief Minister did not reply.
