Neighbor Sagar Chandra Das (23) has been accused of raping a mentally challenged (15) by tempting her to feed him mangoes at Netrakona’s Khaliajuri. Accused Sagar was arrested from Khaliajuri market on Wednesday (May 10) evening.
Sagar Chandra Das is the son of Subhash Chandra Das of Baniapara area in Sadar Union of that upazila.

According to local sources, Sagar lured the victim to his uncle’s cowshed to eat mangoes. Two other children were with the victim at the time. The sea threatened them to leave and closed the door of the house. Later the two children informed the mother of the victim. Later the girl told her mother about the rape.
Khaliajuri Police Station Deputy Inspector (SI) Emdadul Haque Rana said that Sagar Chandra Das has been arrested. The victim was sent to Netrakona Modern Sadar Hospital for medical examination on Thursday.
