Scientific developments are often presented as new facts stripped of history, interest and impact. However, they carry the subjectivity of their creators, who think about it with an end and towards a specific sector. In this sense, artificial intelligence is the great protagonist of the moment and its indiscriminate use does not escape the need to problematize its course. Even many of the magnates and media linked to his impulse called to stop the advances to rethink the consequences of their applications.

An opportunity to reflect on this will be on Friday, May 19, when the documentary “Artificial Intelligence, nothing human is alien to us” on the screens of Canal Encuentro and TEC. This is a co-production between the educational signal and the transmedia platform of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, whose contents and programming explore the relationship between Science and Technology with aspects of everyday life.

The docuintent answer the basic questions around AI while delving into aspects such as data and the ways in which it is used, the spaces where it is developed, the technological needs and the ethical limits at the time of its application. In addition, it connects with socio-environmental aspects linked to ecology and the prevention of the climate crisis within the framework of regional realities. Finally, it explores the relationship with entertainment and the cultural choices made by users, to observe the scope and risks in this area with the development of these technologies.

Why develop science and technology and at the service of whom to do it is a key discussion, even more so when the algorithms and the automation of many processes seem to find no limits. In times of platform capitalism, the documentary invites you to think What should Argentina do with this technology and at the service of whom should it be carried out?. Like all development, artificial intelligence is a field of dispute.

The film stars personalities from science and communication such as Maia Numerosky, a machine learning engineer; Ivana Feldfeber, executive director of DataGénero; Diego Fernández Slezak, Conicet researcher; and Esteban Magnani, journalist and technological popularizer.
