Victor Wembanyama is knighted. The Metropolitans 92 player will join San Antonio for the next NBA season, much to the delight of Tony Parker. The Spurs legend posted a message on his social media, “Yesss it’s coming to Spurs!!! Incredible, so proud of you Wemby,” he posted on Instagram, along with a photo of Victor Wembanyama as a child wearing the jersey of his future franchise.
Since that night and the NBA lottery draw, there’s been little doubt about “Wemby’s” next team. San Antonio will have the first pick in the draft and will undoubtedly choose the French player. He will therefore join the franchise where Tony Parker spent 17 seasons and won the league four times.
IN 2021, Wemby had left his training club of Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine) to join Asvel, in Villeurbanne (Rhône), the club of “TP”. But the story had come to an end after just one season.
