Jirama announced a return to normal electricity from this Friday for the interconnected network of Antananarivo (RIA). A new promise that users had a hard time believing.

The rotating load shedding will not last beyond this Friday, the new acting director, Hery Tiana Rabarison, said yesterday at a press conference. The delay in fuel supplies in the production sites would be the cause of the low production, forcing Jirama to carry out these alternating power cuts in several districts.

To overcome the problems, Jirama plans to increase the number of tank trucks that supply the production sites. Ten trucks per day are needed, yet there are only four tanker trucks in operation since last Saturday. Similarly, Jirama evokes the increase in electricity needs at the start of the winter season and the reduction of water sources for hydroelectric production to justify the cuts.

While waiting for the return to normal, subscribers must take their troubles patiently because the cuts supposed to last three hours go well beyond.
