Three leading art galleries in Barcelona such as Bombon, Joan Prats and Nogueras Blanchard eare moving from this Saturday and throughout the summer to Empordà with an exhibition proposal that includes works by Joan Miró or Antoni Tàpies.

One of the people responsible for this summer activity on the Costa Brava, Rebeca Blanchard, told EFE that they are moving to Corçà this year after previous experiences in the town of Fonteta, in Forallac.

L’The space chosen this year is an old flour factory which includes up to six exhibition rooms of more than a dozen artists.

Among them, pieces by Joan Miró and Antoni Tàpies stand out, although Blanchard has stressed that the range is wide and that it goes “from the youngest such as Lara Fluxà, Ludovic Carbotta or Juliana Cerqueira to the most veterans such as José María Sicilia, Joan Ponsatí or Alfons Borrell”.

The artists present represent several generations gathered in an exhibition that has been titled Meridian fantastic spirit and which revolves around the concept of movement.

Visitors will this time have a space for reading books facilitated by the Terranova publishing house and there will also be musical proposals and different cultural disciplines during the weekends.

The project of the three galleries is itinerant and, after the Fonteta stage, now comes this one from Corcà with the idea of getting to know different points of Empordà’s geography.

This year’s guest artist is Joan Ponsatí, originally from the town of Banyoles.

‘Meridian spirit fantastic’ includes in its selection from sculpture to painting, drawing or even video, and Rebeca Blanchard has highlighted the suitability of the old flour factory as an exhibition space, because there “the art contemporary looks different from the white cube of the galleries”.

The artistic proposal will remain open to the public until next August 27.
