The sketch project of restoration of the chapel of Hamletavan village of Kapan community of Syunik marz of RA and the improvement of the area was approved by the session of the scientific and methodical council of the RA Ministry of Education and Culture, and then the working project was approved.
The RA Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has given permission to fix, repair, restore and improve the territory of the immovable monument of history and culture.
The works of restoration of the chapel and improvement of the area have started, completion is planned for 2023.
It should be noted that there is no information about the chapel of Hamletavan village of Kapan community, Syunik marz, RA. It is believed to have been built in the 17th century and is a one-nave basilica type. The monument is in a dilapidated state, the upper parts of the outer walls and a part of the nave dome are in ruins. in 2022 “Historical-Cultural Reserve-Museums and Historical Environment Protection Service” SNOC carried out excavation works prior to the restoration.
