Marking of diagonal pedestrian crossings will change in Moscow

The markings of diagonal pedestrian crossings will change in Moscow by the summer, the Moscow Department of Transport reported on Telegram.

“At 41 pedestrian crossing, instead of white and yellow markings on the diagonal, the border of the crossing will be marked with a dotted line,” the message says. The department noted that the new marking “looks neater, saves paint, and most importantly, the wheels of cars and motorcycles will not slip on it.”

Diagonal pedestrian crossings began to appear in Moscow several years ago at the request of residents, the department recalled.

Earlier, the Department of Transport announced the installation of road cameras in Moscow, which record drivers who are not wearing their seatbelt and talking on the phone. The department noted that new complexes of photo-video recording using a neural network and Big Data can accurately recognize the fact of a violation. Cameras can accurately identify steering wheel, hands, and seat belt in frames.
