Russian inventor has created an “earring” that disinfects the air in the nose

UV LED device inserts directly into the nostrils

Means of protection against bacteria, strongly reminiscent of the bell of patsakov from the imperishable Georgy Danelia “Kin-dza-dza!”, Was developed and patented by the inventor Alexei Giganov. Thanks to the built-in UV LED, the device must effectively disinfect the air that enters the human nose.

The know-how looks like an outlandish earring. It consists of a body, which is fixed in the nose on the inner baffle, and a block with filters and an LED. Between the hollow arches extending into the nostrils, there is an additional protection – an antibacterial material. It can be mesh and porous, for example, gauze, cloth, fine mesh, cotton wool, as well as impregnated or moistened with antibacterial substances: eucalyptus oil, garlic, camphor oil. But the main disinfection of the inhaled air occurs by passing it through a part of the body with a UV-LED located in the middle of the device and having a range of up to 10-15 cm. The diode and batteries for it are in a special shade so as not to cause burns to the skin of the face and eyes. In addition, special through channels with porous filters inside are made inside the body, which enhances the effect.

According to the author, its development should protect humans from pathogenic bacteria and viruses, as well as from dust-like particles carrying allergens, and can be used as a protective bactericidal-viral barrier for the prevention of diseases. Moreover, as noted in the text of the Giganov patent, the device has a cumulative effect: the more products are used in one room, the stronger the disinfecting effect will be, since the inhaled-exhaled air will be repeatedly treated with a bactericidal barrier.
