The second week of the Tour de France had a fierce start, which for many, made this stage the most demanding so far in competition. Even for someone as aggressive as Tadej Pogacar, it was a surprise to see that frantic scramble to get out.

“I didn’t expect the start to be so selective,” confessed the Slovenian, who made it clear that the attitude of the protagonists sets the course of a test. “The runners are the ones who make the race hard,” he opined.

In fact, Pogi himself tried to jump in a breakaway with Jonas Vingegaard, a movement that, if it had succeeded, would have brought another scenario to this intense day. “If INEOS didn’t come back, the race would have been different and surely with big differences, but in the end it was easier,” explained the second overall.

Once again, the adversary spirit that yellow has is denoted, a man who seeks to surprise and make a difference at the least expected moment. The margin is narrow and any moment is propitious for the struggle.
