‘Medical certificate can also be issued to ayurvedic doctors for driving license’ | Ayurveda Doctors | Driving License

Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister Antony Raju has directed registered doctors with Ayurvedic degrees to issue medical certificates for driving licenses. Currently, only medical certificates of allopathic doctors and postgraduates in Ayurveda are considered.

Medical certificates of registered medical practitioners with a degree in Ayurveda can now be used for driving licenses. The decision was based on the fact that BAMS doctors are equally qualified as MBBS doctors to issue medical certificates.

Minister Antony Raju said the decision was taken following repeated requests from various quarters.
