by time news
The BCCI has announced the Indian cricket team for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa. The team will be led by KL Rahul after Rohit Sharma was ruled out due to injury. Jasprit Bumrah is the vice captain of the team. Veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan has been recalled to the squad. Venkatesh Iyer and Ruthuraj Gaikwad have also been included in the ODI squad.

Rohit Sharma, who was injured during training, is currently undergoing treatment at the National Cricket Academy. The player has not fully recovered. Ruth Raj and Venkatesh’s performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy helped them.

This is Rahul’s first appearance in the Indian team. He has been playing brilliantly as a batsman and will be looking to repeat this in his captaincy. Former captain Virat Kohli has been ruled out of the ODI series, but his concerns were allayed when he later announced that he would be playing. Kohli can be seen as a batsman in the new team.
