Bull-dominated stock market: Nifty past 17,200 points
The stock market, which had continued to rise in trading this week, ended lower today.
The stock market, which ended higher yesterday (Dec. 29), ended lower today on the back of lower gas and fuel company stocks.
The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex, which had closed at 57,806.49 points yesterday and opened at 57,755.40 points today, was down 12.17 points at 57,794.32.
The Nifty closed at 17,213.60 points and opened at 17,201.45 points today. The Nifty was up 9.65 points at 17,203.95 points.
Shares of IT and banks, which have been steadily rising, have maintained a steady rise.
