The whole world celebrated the New Year yesterday. In that vein, Indo-Chinese soldiers on the border exchanged sweets for New Year celebrations.

In the hilly areas including Nathula and Congra La, Sikkim, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Corona precautionarily wore full body armor and the soldiers of the two countries greeted and shared sweets.

Similarly, on the Poonch and Mendar border in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Indian and Pakistani soldiers exchanged sweets.

A military spokesman said the two soldiers exchanged sweets and greetings in good faith.

He said, “At the beginning of 2022, the Indian Army exchanged sweets and greetings with the Pakistan Army on the Poonch and Mendar border to promote mutual trust and peace.”

He added that the move was aimed at furthering peace and reconciliation in the Union Territory in view of the ongoing ceasefire on the border.
