History repeats itself for Ibrahima Diallo, the FNDC’s operations officer, again blocked on the evening of July 24, at the Ahmed Sékou Touré international airport in Conakry-Gbessia.

“Wishing to make a trip for professional reasons to France, I have been detained at the airport for more than an hour. They don’t return the passport to me, nor do they tell me if I can travel or not. May this message reach whom it may concern, ”denounced, Monday evening, Ibrahima Diallo on Facebook. The activist would have done his formalities quietly, and would have been blocked shortly before he boarded Air France. On the orders of the new divisional commissioner of the airport, Yaya Camara who says he is acting at the request of Alghassimou Diallo, the public prosecutor at the Dixinn court of first instance.

However, according to Ibrahima Diallo, invited this July 25 on Fim Fm, his lawyer had previously obtained assurances from the judicial authorities that he could travel. “My lawyer was waiting at the attorney general’s office. He went to see the Minister of Justice to find administrative documents. When he came back, he didn’t say anything to my lawyer and left. At the airport, the assistant commissioner did everything to reach the public prosecutor, without success. Finally, I received a call from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization informing me that I am forbidden to leave the territory. »

Ibrahima Diallo invites justice to act quickly, on the grounds that he “postponed my ticket for July 29, while waiting for things to evolve. »

“These are political reasons”

Ibrahima Diallo denounces having been prevented from traveling without any legal basis. “A police officer who arrests someone must present him with a summons or a warrant. If I have to be banned from traveling, I had to be presented with a document notifying that I must not leave the territory. Only a court decision “can prohibit me from leaving the territory. But, it is a given instruction that has been executed. I believe the reasons are political and not judicial.”

As a reminder, the activist was prevented from traveling at the beginning of last June by Naby Ibrahima Traoré, former special commissioner of the Ahmed Sékou Touré international airport. Ibrahima Diallo was traveling to Niamey in Niger to attend the Forum of Social Movements on the restriction of civic space in Africa.

The operations officer of the National Front for the Defense of the Constitution has brought a lawsuit against Naby Ibrahima Traoré “for infringement of his individual freedom and criminal abstention”. Opened on June 22, the trial will continue on July 27 at the Mafanco Court of First Instance. Does Yaya Camara risk the same fate as his predecessor?
