In 2021, Russia increased its electricity exports by 2.2 times compared to the previous year, TASS reports, citing data from the Central Dispatch Office of the Fuel and Energy Complex. In just a year, Russia supplied 25 billion kWh of electricity abroad.

Electricity supplies for export in December increased 1.8 times to 2.7 billion kWh. The volume of imports to Russia in 2021 amounted to 1.9 billion kWh, including 0.3 billion kWh in December.

It is noted that the production of electricity in the country for the year increased by 6.4% to 1.131 trillion kWh, energy consumption – by 5.4% to 1.106 trillion kWh.

In 2021, Russia supplied 5.7% more coal abroad than a year earlier. The volume of exports reached 214.368 million tons. Coal production in the country increased by 8.9% compared to 2020 and amounted to 438.09 million tons.

Russian oil exports fell 3.2% to 225.1 million tonnes amid a cut in OPEC + production. At the same time, in December this figure rose by 7% yoy to 19.9 million tons due to a gradual recovery in production. At the end of the year, Russia produced 524.05 million tons of oil and gas condensate (2.2% more than in 2020).
