The National Guardsmen achieved success in the offensive in the Melitopol direction. At present, they are fixed at the achieved levels. The fighters also captured a Russian BMP-3 near Rabotinoye.
This was stated by the acting director of the planning department for the use of the Main Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine Nikolay Urshalovich, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to his briefing.
“In the Melitopol direction, the guards continued offensive operations as part of the shock groups of the Defense Forces. They have partial success,” Urshalovich said.
Thus, units of one of the operational brigades of the National Guard in the course of offensive operations advanced up to 650 meters into the depth of the enemy’s defense, one and a half kilometers along the front and entrenched themselves on the occupied line.
Also, in the course of offensive operations northeast of the village of Robotino, the National Guardsmen captured and successfully evacuated a Russian BMP-3.
The situation at the front
According to the General Staff, over the past day, on August 2, 44 combat clashes took place on the fronts. The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, consolidate on the achieved lines, and carry out counter-battery measures.
In particular, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are advancing near Bakhmut, and positional battles are taking place near Kleshcheevka.
