Doctor of Medical Sciences Sergei Tokarev in an interview with Ura.ru told how the omicron works. According to him, the coronavirus of this strain “undermines the sensitivity of an ordinary cell to interferons,” a series of proteins that the body throws to fight the virus. As a result, the scientist explained. immunocompetent cells produce less interferon, which means they weaken the body’s immune system as a whole.
