by time news

Canada, Britain, Sweden and Ukraine have vowed to take action against Iran over the shooting down of a Ukrainian plane.

Canada, Britain, Sweden and Ukraine said on Thursday that they would drop efforts to negotiate with Iran over compensation for the Ukrainian plane shot down by the IRGC and seek to resolve the issue in accordance with international law.

When Iran shot down a Ukrainian plane in January 2020, most of the 176 people killed were civilians from Canada, Britain, Sweden and Ukraine.

Therefore, the four countries formed a coordination committee to negotiate compensation with Iran.

In this regard, the Coordinating Committee issued a statement saying that over the past two years we have made several efforts to resolve this issue through our best efforts and negotiations.

Nevertheless, the Coordinating Committee concluded that further efforts to negotiate with Iran were futile.

The Coordinating Committee will focus on the next steps to be taken to resolve the matter in accordance with international law.
