Porsche and the operator of the e-fuels production, the Chilean company HIF Global, are apparently so unnerved by this that they are now taking matters into their own hands. At the International Motor Show IAA, they announced on Monday that the group’s own engineers from Porsche, Volkswagen and MAN now want to develop and build so-called direct air capture systems themselves. “We want to bring an industrial Direct Air Capture process, DAC for short, to series production,” says Michael Steiner, Research and Development Director at Porsche AG.
