Armenia expected an adequate response from Russia and the CSTO when there was an attack on the sovereign territory of Armenia, RA Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan told reporters today.
He said that they have “very open” discussions with their Russian partners and express their grievances.
Referring to the Lachin Corridor, the Deputy Foreign Minister insisted that Armenia’s position remains the same: the corridor must be opened.
“Azerbaijan is conducting a destructive policy, it can be said that it disregards the very direct call of the international community that the Lachin Strait should be opened. “Such steps by Azerbaijan give us reason to suspect that Azerbaijan is trying to carry out ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh, and in such a case the international community has a very clear obligation in the context of genocide prevention,” he said.
