The Moscow Arbitration Court partially satisfied the claim of the mobile operator Tele2 against the supplier of the Swedish telecom equipment Ericsson – the Russian company Satel TVK – in the amount of almost 490,700 euros. This follows from the operative part of the decision, published on August 31 on the website of the court. The amount was only 12% of the expected, Vedomosti calculated.

Tele2 planned to install 50,000 Ericsson Radio System 5G-ready base stations by 2023 in 27 regions of Russia, including the Moscow and Leningrad regions, the Swedish company said in a press release in May 2021. The project was supposed to allow Tele2 to increase the data transfer rate, prepare for the launch of the 5G standard and the constant connection of many users, devices and objects. During 2019–2020 Tele2 has already put into operation 30,000 new Ericsson base stations. In August 2019, Tele2 and Ericsson reported on the launch of Russia’s first 5G pilot zone in the center of Moscow, which covers Tverskaya Street from the Kremlin to the Garden Ring.
