There are many tree species that grow well in Germany’s temperate climate. If you are still unsure which tree it should be, you can look around at a nursery or tree nursery. Ball trees are among the most popular varieties in Germany. Even without pruning, they grow more or less round and are usually not maintenance-intensive. They are available as maple, oak and acacia, among others. If you want to make homemade compote or jelly at some point, fruit trees are an option. The most common of these is still the apple tree because it has particularly low demands on location and soil. Sweet cherries, pears and plums are also an option. Anyone looking for a small-crowned tree (diameter 6 to 10 meters) often chooses the hornbeam. The field maple is medium in size (10 to 15 meters). If you want a large crown (diameter greater than 15 meters), a swamp oak is a good choice. Their owners particularly appreciate the beautiful red autumn colors of this North American species.
