New Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth Trailer Confirms Vincent Valentine’s Role as a Party Member

In an exciting new trailer for Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth, fans were treated to Vincent Valentine’s first appearance, confirming that the red-cloaked pseudo-vampire will indeed join the party in the highly anticipated game. The developers revealed this exciting news during an interview with IGN.

Director Naoki Hamaguchi clarified Vincent’s role in Rebirth: “In terms of whether or not Vincent will be a playable character, he will be more of an accompanying character to the party in terms of Rebirth. So this will be similar to how Red XIII was in Remake.”

This means that Vincent will not be a playable character in Rebirth but will be a valuable party member. Similar to Red XIII in Remake, Vincent will fight alongside the group but cannot be controlled in battle or have his equipment changed. However, there is hope for fans who want to play as Vincent. Red XIII becomes playable in Rebirth, indicating that Vincent might also be available as a playable character in the final installment of the trilogy.

Vincent’s appearance in the recent Rebirth trailer was met with enthusiasm, as the character is adored by fans as one of the original FF7’s most beloved party members. Vincent was initially an optional character met in Nibelheim, who joined the party on a personal revenge mission. He was so popular that he even received his own spinoff game, Dirge of Cerberus, although it received mixed reviews at the time.

The latest teaser for Rebirth, showcased at Sony State of Play, not only revealed Vincent but also provided glimpses of Cait Sith, the Gold Saucer, and much more. According to Square Enix, Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth will offer a staggering 100 hours of content and include a scene that fans are eagerly anticipating. The game is set for an exclusive release on the PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024.

During the interview with IGN, producer Yoshinori Kitase and creative director Tetsuya Nomura also discussed the role of Zack Fair in Rebirth, as well as the mechanics surrounding chocobos. For more details, readers can refer to the full interview.

Final Fantasy enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the release of Rebirth, which promises to be a thrilling and immersive experience. With Vincent Valentine joining the party, players can look forward to an unforgettable journey when the game finally hits the shelves.
