“Finally broken for us”: the dramatic decision of the Barbie Club in Tel Aviv

by time news

The Barbie Club, the oldest institution for rock performances in Tel Aviv, announced today (Tuesday) that its gates will be closed for two weeks, starting on January 15, which will also include the postponement of all planned performances from this date until the end of the month.

The dramatic announcement posted in a Facebook post read: “Dear audience, we are finally broken. We raised our hands. We surrendered. There is no responsible leadership that knows how to make brave decisions.”

“Your phones keep ringing in favor of cancellation due to isolation, proximity to verified, corona for truth or just sneezing. We decided to make a unilateral decision and postpone performances until the end of January, starting on 15.1 (unless artists insist on continuing their activities as scheduled).”

At the end of the announcement, it was written that “we hope and trust that we will see better, healthier days, and with ambition we will see leaders who see us in a different light. The Barbie Club closes its doors for two weeks.”

The criticism comes amid a wave of complaints about the confusion in the new guidelines against the Corona, as well as allegations that the “government has given up” in dealing with the spread of the disease. For there are no concrete restrictions regarding the gathering, but mainly recommendations, and in addition, the layout of the isolations has been regulated only in recent days, when there are over 100,000 people staying in isolation.
