The 10 stories signed by Malayalam’s beloved storyteller MT Vasudevan Nair are simultaneously different films. The stories are set in the ‘Anthology’ movie network, which is preparing for the OTT platform Netflix.
MT himself writes the screenplay for the fragrant stories of Malayalam and Nalukettu. Mammootty, Mohanlal, Fahad Fazil, Asif Ali and Shanthikrishna are the big names in the cast. The films are directed by Jayaraj, Priyadarshan, Shyamaprasad, Santosh Sivan, Lijo Jose Pellissery and Mahesh Narayan. MT’s daughter Ashwathy V. Nair is also directing a film with the role of creative producer of films.

Asifali and Madhubala will play the lead roles in ‘Vilpana’ directed by Ashwathy. Ujjan Chopra from Hindi is also seen in a notable role. Siddique is the hero in Santosh Sivan’s film. Parvathy and Narain in Shyamaprasad’s ‘Kazhcha’. Nedumudi Venu, Indrans and Surabhi are the main characters in Jayaraj’s ‘When Heaven Opens’. Biju Menon and Shanthikrishna play the lead roles in Priyadarshan’s inscription.
P.N. Another highlight is the remake of ‘Olavum Theeravum’, directed by Menon and released in 1970. This is the first film to be shot entirely outside the studio. Madhu was the hero. Mohanlal will play the lead in the new movie directed by Priyadarshan. Kadu Gannava is a travelogue that contains the autobiography of MT. Mammootty is the hero in this.
