The Government will circulate a mobile radio booth throughout Catalonia so that everyone can participate in the “biggest podcast ever made in Catalan”. The activity, which is part of the Queta campaign “Try it in Catalan. Much to talk about, much to live!” it was presented yesterday by the Minister of Culture, Natàlia Garriga, and the Minister of the Presidency, Laura Vilagrà, from Plaça Catalunya in Barcelona. “We want people to use Catalan in all areas”, defended Garriga, who affirmed that “the aim of the campaign is that together we demonstrate that Catalan is diverse, has many accents and is useful for everyone” .
Once inside the cabin, the participating person will be able to choose 4 options according to their level of Catalan and their preferences: participate in a radio interview, where Queta asks questions related to that person’s relationship with Catalan; practicing the language in a conversation where Queta has to go buy ingredients to make a paella; do a karaoke with the song Get Started, which the Tyets, Marala and Kelly Isaiah performed for the campaign; or give a voice sample for the AINA project. After the recording, each participant will receive their own mobile recording, and once the cabin has completed its journey, a podcast will be created with a selection of all participating voices.
The first podcast booth was launched yesterday in Barcelona, and will subsequently shoot and visit, in order of the route, Sabadell, Terrassa, Manresa, Igualada, Tàrrega, Reus, Tarragona, Tortosa, Lleida, Tremps, Girona, Figueres, Vic, Vilafranca del Penedès and Vilanova and Geltrú.
