The share of laptops without a pre-installed OS on the Russian market from January to August 2023 compared to the same period in 2022 increased 2.6 times to 24%. In total, 2.15 million laptops were sold on the Russian market during this period. This data is provided by Holodilnik.ru analysts.
The same trend is observed with desktop computers: the share of equipment without an OS in the first eight months of 2023 year-on-year increased by 14 percentage points and exceeded half (52%) of devices sold on the Russian market. A total of 789,000 computers were sold during this period. The share of Windows decreased year on year in laptops from 61 to 54%, in desktop computers – from 41 to 30%.
