The State Fund “Agriculture” transferred nearly BGN 13 million (BGN 12,960,229) to the accounts of farmers under sub-measure 22.1 “Extraordinary temporary support for farmers who are particularly affected by the consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine” from the PRDP 2014-2020. Subsidies in the amount of BGN 6,270,233 were paid to 4,958 applicants – beekeepers, as well as producers of greenhouse strawberries and raspberries. Another BGN 6,689,996 was also authorized to 1,132 farmers who grew sunflower and applied under the same sub-measure, but did not receive support on the first intake.
In the “Beekeeping” sector, BGN 6,158,672 were paid to 4,949 farmers. The aid is provided on the basis of the number of available bee families, established during the autumn examination in 2022 and reflected in a protocol for a preventive examination performed by a veterinarian. The bee colonies must be kept in their own animal breeding facility, registered under Art. 137 of the Law on Veterinary Medicine.
Funding in the amount of BGN 111,561 under sub-measure 22.1 was also received by producers of strawberries or raspberries, greenhouse production eligible for support. The aid was calculated only for the areas for which farmers did not receive aid under the sub-measure during the previous intake.
We remind you that under sub-measure 22.1 of the 2014-2020 RDP, a farmer can receive support of no more than EUR 15,000 (BGN 29,337). This is the permissible amount of aid recorded in European legislation.
