General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema receives the Special Advisor to the President of the United States

General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, President of the Transition, Head of State, today received in audience a delegation led by Mr. Judd Devermont, Special Advisor to President Joe Biden, President of the United States.

Strengthening the partnership between the United States and African countries, particularly Gabon, was at the center of discussions between the Head of State and Special Advisor to President Joe Biden.

The American envoy expressed the solidarity of the authorities of his country, in particular President Joe Biden, with the Gabonese people whom he intends to support throughout the Transition process.

Returning to the reasons for the takeover of power by the military, the President of the Transition wanted to reassure his host regarding the organization of democratic elections at the end of the Transition period. Also, Mr. Judd Devermond reiterated the desire of the American Head of State to revitalize bilateral cooperation which unites Gabon and the United States.

As a reminder, the Head of State, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, received on October 6 the Chargé d’Affair of the United States Embassy in Gabon, Mrs. Ellen Thorburn, with whom he had discussed at length on the subjects of common interest between the two countries.
