Japanese scientists have concluded that the number of microparticles through which the COVID-19 coronavirus can be transmitted reaches a peak less than 1.5 seconds after exhalation.
In a ventilated room, a high concentration could be observed for 4 seconds, in a non-ventilated room it could last up to 12 seconds, and at the peak it could be several times higher than in a ventilated room.
According to the authors of the scientific work, the findings suggest that holding your breath next to a coughing or sneezing person, as well as keeping your distance, can be a relatively effective way to protect yourself.
