General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema addresses the Defense and Security Forces

Libreville, November 4, 2023 – The President of the Transition, President of the Republic, Head of State, Supreme Head of the Defense and Security Forces, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema took communion today at Air Base 01 of Libreville with agents from the different bodies of the Defense and Security Forces represented.

Welcomed on his arrival by the Minister Delegate to the Presidency, in charge of Defense, the President of the Transition reviewed the troops before receiving the military honors due to his rank.

This unprecedented ceremony in which the ministers delegated to the Presidency, in charge of Defense and the Interior and Security, the members of the CTRI, the Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and non-commissioned members took part, was punctuated by the word welcome from the Minister of Defense, a projection of the CTRI Spokesperson followed by the message from the Head of State to the troops.

In a detailed presentation, the CTRI spokesperson, under the gaze of the President of the Transition, noted the achievements of the CTRI for the benefit of the armed forces since the advent of the Transition.

Thus, in just 65 days, significant logistical, material and financial achievements were recorded, and reflect the personal commitment of Chee l’Etat aimed at improving the living and working conditions of the esteemed Gabonese armed forces. numbering 26,000 men and women.

These include, among other things, the acquisition of tactical equipment in the short, medium and long term, the construction of housing, the provision of uniformed personnel, and the rehabilitation of barracks throughout the national territory.

In addition, in this momentum of restoration, the CTRI aims to strengthen the number of troops and the training of agents.

Speaking with an open heart to his “brothers in arms”, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema reiterated his desire to work more to restore the dignity of the troops.

Furthermore, castigating the deviant behavior displayed by certain soldiers, the Head of State called on the troops to demonstrate discipline and exemplarity, diligence in service, rigor and patriotism while ensuring in a climate serene and friendly the security of people and goods, in order to achieve together towards the happiness to which the populations strongly aspire, and to the consolidation of the army-nation link.
