One of the highlights is Emu Edit, an image editing model that comes without conventional selection tools. In a demo, Zuckerberg requests something as simple as “turn the dog into a panda,” and the model performs the task amazingly, demonstrating its ability to perform advanced tasks without the intervention of traditional editing tools.
Emu Edit has been trained with a massive data set containing 10 million samples, marking a milestone in information gathering for this type of models according to Meta AI.
Emu Video: Evolution in creating videos from text
On the other hand, Emu Video represents a substantial evolution with respect to its predecessors. Unlike its previous version, Make-A-Video, this model follows a staged creation approach. Instead of generating a video with a single prompt, Emu Video first creates an image and then animates it to turn it into a video. This “factored” approach seeks to improve user efficiency, allowing for iterative adjustments at each stage of the process.
Although these models show great progress in the integration of AI in multimedia editing, there are still aspects to perfect. The quality of results from Emu Edit and Emu Video is expected to improve as technology evolves rapidly.
Regarding the implementation on Facebook and Instagram, Zuckerberg has not provided specific dates, asking users for patience.
