US President Joe Biden held a meeting with his national security team on the issue of Russia and Ukraine. They discussed Moscow’s “aggressive actions” as well as the supply of security assistance to Kiev.
At the meeting, the president was reported on the state of “Russian military operations” on the border with Ukraine. The White House previously reported that Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will report to the head of state on Saturday on the results of a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on security guarantees. The United States has previously approved $200 million in defense assistance to Ukraine. The first batch of aid arrived the day before, it included 90 tons of lethal weapons. According to CNN, Washington intends to transfer small arms, ammunition, medical equipment and radar surveillance equipment. The total amount of US military assistance to Ukraine in 2021 increased to a record $650 million.
