He Park Guell This morning was the first scene of the activities STEAM that organize Barcelona Municipal Services (BSM) and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia – Barcelona Tech (UPC), through theSchool of Engineering of Barcelona Est (EEBC).
More of 600 boys and girls of 5th and 6th grade, coming from ten different schools, they have worked on curricular competencies in the areas of mathematics, science, art and technologywhile they discovered the secrets of the Gaudí’s work and modernist architecture.
To learn about the latter, they have carried out three activities supervised by students from the EEBE of the UPC: in the first they have built semicircular arches and catenaries with different pieces of wood; The second activity was to create a dome with rods and elbows; In the last one, they have discovered the history and architecture of Park Güell through an investigation game that ended with the discovery of a precious treasure by Gaudí.
This first STEAM Park Güell has also had a showled by two neuroscientists, from math and dance inspired by the fgeometric shapes of the architect.

The program in charge of disseminating science and technology among primary and secondary school boys and girls will continue in March next year and will have the Forum Park as the headquarters of a large laboratory for young people of 4th year of ESO and high school.
The season of STEAM activities will close this current course next May 8 at Tibidabo. In total, it is expected that there will be a participation close to the 7.000 students throughout this course 2023-2024.
